Picnic Nadal / Christmas Picnic

Estimats socis i sòcies,

El Casal Català de Victòria Inc. us agraeix la vostra participació al “Made in Catalonia” Film Festival. Gràcies a l’èxit d’aquest any ens plantegem repetir l’any que ve amb la mateixa il·lusió i noves pel·lícules.

Mentrestant, us convidem al tradicional Picnic de Nadal, el proper diumenge 7 de desembre als Edinburgh Gardens de Fitzroy (entrada per l'Alfred Crescent - Melway 30 B-12).

Allà ens reunirem per fer un picnic (BYO) a partir de les 12pm.
Recordeu portar el vostre menjar, begudes, cadires, taula i coberts, però no les postres! El Casal us convidarà als torrons, els tradicionals dolços de Nadal.

A partir de les 2pm començarem amb els jocs per petits i grans (carreres de l’ou i la cullera, petanca, golf in a bucket, etc.) i fer cagar regals al tió seguint la tradició catalana. Porteu la canalla!

També farem l’amic invisible, un joc nadalenc de moda a Catalunya:
Per participar, només heu de portar un petit regal embolicat (d’un màxim de $10) que es repartirà a sorts entre els jugadors de forma que mai rebreu el que heu comprat sinó el que ha comprat una altra persona anònima. Sorpresa! Per això es diu l’amic invisible.

Per finalitzar, farem la típica rifa nadalenca amb 3 premis diferents!
No us ho perdeu: per $2 per participació ($5 per 3 tiquets) entrareu en el sorteig de 3 paneres amb productes catalans tradicionals de Nadal.

Dear Members,

The Catalan Centre of Victoria wants to thank you for your participation in the “Made in Catalonia” Film Festival. Its success has encouraged us to repeat it next year with the same enthusiasm (but new movies!).

Meanwhile we would like to invite you to the traditional Christmas Picnic on Sunday 7^th of December at the Edinburgh Gardens of Fitzroy (Alfred Crescent Entrance - Melway 30 B-12).

We will meet you there (BYO everything) from 12 noon.
Remember to bring your food and drinks, table, chairs and cutlery, but there is no need to bring desserts! The Casal will invite you to “torrons”, the traditional Christmas sweets.

From 2pm we will start the fun and games for young and old, with spoon and egg races, petanque, golf in a bucket, etc., and the Catalan Christmas tradition of “shedding the log”. Bring the kids!

We will also have a Kris Kringle, as popular in Catalonia as it is here. To play you just need to bring a wrapped present per participant in your family group (at a maximum cost of $10 each). They will be randomly mixed with all the other presents, and you will get a gift carefully chosen by someone else. Surprise! That’s why it’s called “the invisible friend” in Catalonia.

To finish up, we will have three different Christmas raffles, not to be missed! Take part in the raffles, at $2 per ticket ($5 per 3 tickets), to win 3 different prizes with traditional Catalan products.
